Cheap Milk and OJ

I am on vacation in a different state, so it is hard to find my deals!

However, this is one of my favorites. Usually, evetry other week Fred Meyer puts a coupon in their Sunday ad for 1/2 gallon of milk, chocolate milk and orange juice for $1.00. This puts milk at 2.00 a gallon. Which is a good deal. But for chocolate milk and OJ it is a fantastic deal. My hubby and kids love it when the coupon is in the paper. Because I get 2 papers, I have two coupons and use one on the Sunday I get it and use the other the following Saturday. So here's to getting our calcium! Drink up!

Questions Answered!!!

I have received a few questions in the comments.

1. Where do you get all of the coupons? I buy 2 newspapers every week and save the coupon ads in a small file box with the dates written on tabs. When I post coupons, I will post with the date and the name of the ad (red plum, smart source or proctor and gamble). I then go to my file pull the ad and cut the 1 coupon I need. I then don't have to cut bunches of coupons and spend time organizing them. I usually keep about 12-16 weeks of coupons in my file. When I get this weeks coupons, I will pull the last file from 12 weeks ago. I then recycle the ads, put my new ones in and change the date. Then I am done!

2. Jen Balmer pointed out that ebates is similar to mypoints. You can do surveys and buy through their site to earn points for gift cards. She also pointed out that she gets a second email account because they send you a bunch of junk mail. What I like about ebates is that you get cash in the form of a check or added to your paypal account to use as you wish. But as long as it saves me or gives me money I am all for it! Thanks Jen for the tip!

Online Shopping

I LOVE shopping online. I have never been one of those girls that can spend hours at the mall. I have even less time to go to the mall now that I am a Mommy. Online shopping has been one of the best inventions EVER!!! One of the ways I have been able to save money and actually get money back is to use Ebates. If you have never heard of Ebates it is a website that gives you cash back for shopping online. You go to there website and search for the company that you want to shop at. Use the link they have to go directly to the company and when you buy anything you get a precentage back. I did most of my Christmas shopping online and in February I got $40.00 back. The usually have coupons or free shipping codes also. You can check it out through this link: (copy and paste it to your address line if you can't click it)

http://www.ebates.com/rf.do?referrerid=GaPtxmf1xSbuaxPlGD%2BYew%3D%3D

If you sign up and buy something through their site, you automatically get $5.00 if you use my link. So, if you are going to shop online check them out don't leave any free money on the table! They have over 1000 shops that they do rebates for. They even give you 3% back when you buy something on Ebay. Most major stores are on there (Macy's, JCPenney, Nordstrom, Old Navy, Nike, Childrens Place, Sears...etc..).

Planning your week, Walgreens Deals, Target Deals and a free Brewmasters Taste kit

Planning your week??? What is she crazy?? This is really the key to saving the most money. If you shop and eat what is on sale, you save the most money! Ads come out on Tuesday with the sales starting on Tuesday. I try to pick one day a week to plan my meals. It doesn't always work as I would want, with a baby most things I plan don't happen on schedule :) If you look at the ads and see that chicken is on sale, plan a few meals around chicken, etc. If it is a good sale and I have freezer room, I will buy extra. The best place I have found to buy boneless skinless chicken breast and tenders, is the Albertsons butcher counter. The best deal I found was 1.49/lb..right now it is 2.99/lb. Still a warm deal...but not hot. On to the real deals!!!

First there is a FREE brewmasters Tasting Kit from George Killians. It includes 4 glasses, a bottle opener, and a tasting guide. It is not available in all states, but it is in WA. Go to http://www.georgekillians.com/ and use code P3W9L4T or M9N7K3K. It looks like a good kit. I am thinking it is a good thing to throw in the gift closet for Fathers Day!

Walgreens deals: These are good until Saturday 3/28!

RR is an acronym for Register Rewards. These are coupons that will print out at the end of a qualifying transaction. IVC is a coupon that is found in the Walgreens rebate booklet usually found at the front of the store.

Gillette Fusion Razor-on sale $8.99

Receive $4.00 in register rewards
bottom line .99

Schick Quattro Trim-on sale $8.99

use $4.00/1 IVC coupon
bottom line .99

Triaminic Thin Strips

$3.00 rebate
bottom line 1.99

Thera Flu
$1.50/1 SS 12/7
$3.00 rebate
bottom line $1.49

Stride Gum
Walgreens coupon from 3/22 for .79 each (limit 6)
$2.00/3 packs SS 3/22 (use 2 coupons)
bottom line .12/pack

Don't forget to pick up the free after rebate (FAR) items:

1. Axe haircare item $5.99 FAR
2. Memory Formula $19.99 FAR
3. Walgreens Extra Strength Quickgels $2.99 FAR

I always do my Walgreens rebates online and request them in the form of a Gift Card. You get an extra 10% if you get a gift card. I always use the gift card the following month to get more great deals!

Target Deal

Intuition Plus and/or Quattro for Women
Buy 2
Use coupons from SS 3/22 $4.00/1 for the Intuition and Womens Quattro (there are 2).
At check out you will get a $5.00 gift card
bottom line .49 for each razor
If you get multiple papers you will have enough coupons to do the Walgreens deal and the Target deal. You could also go back and do the Target deal a second time using the gift card and getting a new gift card :)

What you need to start couponing!

I have been serious about using coupons for a couple years now. I save on average 40-60% off of my grocery bill by combining coupons with deals. I buy more when it is on sale so that I have a stockpile of items to use while that specific item is full price at the grocery store. I have a few tools that make couponing a little easier and less time consuming:

1. Do NOT cut out all of the coupons from each Sunday paper. But a small plastic file holder and some file hangers with plastic tabs. On the plastic tabs, write the date. Place the each ad (usually Smart Source, Red Plum and Proctor and Gamble) by date in file hangers. I will list coupons by date and ad company. An example would be for Smart Source ad on January 11th: SS 1/11.

2. I buy 2 Sunday papers. In my area I buy the Seattle Times. They have the best coupons. The other local newspaper does not always have the same coupons. It is usually missing the ones I would use such as a cereal coupon. I also find out which of my family members gets the paper and wouldn't mind saving me their coupons. That way I can buy multiple items for a really great deal.

3. I have a binder with picture or baseball card sheet protectors in them. You will get Catalina Coupons from the stores. I store these in the binder by store. This is also where I store my clipped coupons for the week. I take my binder with me to the store. I also keep my Walgreens rebate pamphlet in my binder.

4. I have www.coupontom.com bookmarked. This website is very important when you are looking for a specific coupon. You type in the name of the item you want to buy and it will tell you if there is a coupon that matches. This is where I usually go to match coupons to ads to find the very best deals.

How much can you really save by using coupons?? Today I went to Albertsons. I bought 1 box of Rice Krispies, 2 boxes of Rice Krispie Treats, 7 large boxes of Poptarts, 5 cans of Chef Boyrdee Pastas, Soft Scrub wipes, 3 Red Baron Pizzas, 1 box of childrens Benadryl. I spent $30.92 and I saved 44.22 a total of 58.8%. To make this happen had to combine coupons with some great sales that Albertsons had going. I will list some of those savings below.

Albertsons had 4 coupons that you can use to double the value of a manufacturers coupon up to $1.00. I cut all 4 of those out.

They have a deal with Kellogs Cereal, Pop Tarts, Keebler Cookies, Cheeze-Its, and Rice Krispie Treats. They are on sale for $2.50 each. If you buy 10, you get $10.00 off. You can mix and match to build your stockpile. There is also a coupon for Pop Tarts from RP 2/22 for $1.00/2 that would make the Pop Tarts 1.00/box for the large box (normally $3.79/box). There are 2 Kellogs cereal coupons from RP 2/22 $1.00/1 box ($1.00/ box) and $.70 off of 1 box ($.80/box). If you have a couple of news papers you can really add up the savings from this deal! If you use the Albertsons doubler coupons, it makes these an even sweeter deal!

The Soft Scrub wipes are on sale for 2.49 (regular 3.49) there is a coupon for $1.50 off. I used one of my Albertsons doubler coupons and saved another dollar. That made these cleaning wipes free!

Chef Boyrdee pasta is on sale for $1.00/can in the small Fred meyer insert inside the Smart Source coupons there is a coupon for $1.00/5. This made each can $ .80, normally they are $1.99 each.

By shopping this way I can usually beat that prices at Wal Mart or Winco.

I will post more deals tomorrow for Target and Walgreens!
